Should We Trade Up to Fleetwood

Pat and I would like your comments on the new Revolution LE 42K that we are thinking on trading up for, see link below.

Is the Fleetwood Brand good on the road, towing [2005 Excursion], workmanship, and overall quality.

We have major issues with our current ‘08 HR and our dealer will not talk to us on the warranty items that were never fixed my HR. We have heard the Fleetwood is covering warranty items on their Motor Homes.

Like most other manufacturer's Fleetwood is good on some things, and not so good on some things. As you can see by my signature I own a Fleetwood. If I ever purchase another motorhome it won't be a Fleetwood.

Personally, if I were you, I'd consider Tiffin Motorhomes. Why, because unlike most other manufacturer's Tiffin has one of the best reputations for customer service after the sale, plus their quality control is way beyond other brands.

I am on my 3rd Fleetwood. The first 2 were gas coaches. The one I have now is a Revolution. I have been happy with all my Fleetwood coaches. I had a Gulfstream and a Coachman before and had problems with both.
The Revolution is made by American Coach, it is an American Coach with out all the frills, mirrors, fancy decorations. The other change is the I-beam front axle instead of independant A-arms. If you want a coach that works good, drives good, and you can full time in with minimal problems, this is it. My next WILL be a Revolution or American Eagle.

Monaco/HR did not honor warranties after bankruptcy sale, but Fleetwood did, In either case, if you bought a new one today it would have a warranty from the new owners.

I like Fleetwood (we have an American Coach now) but individual experiences vary. The Revolution is a fine coach, though.

I heard at a rallye presentation that Fleetwood & some other mfrs went to 'low dollar imported ' assembly staff a bunch of years back. The ultimate result was lousy quality units, which some of us are suffering with still.. After a few years, the laborers were sent back to where they came from, and things improved significantly. Or so we were told.. The improvements in quality were obvious after a year or so. I would have NO misgivings buying any Fleetwood product at this time.

We are quite happy with our FW product & will consider another FW when the time comes. I feel our Bounder was a good bang for the buck. The dealer we bought our coach from has a Revolution in stock & from looking it over, it appears to be a very nice unit built on the AC line without the AC pricetag.

There are always issues with any RV, low, mid, high or luxury. I seem to find the more fancy stuff on your RV, the more that can go wrong. But don't let that deter you. You just have to have the pockets (or the warranties) to take care of those pesky things.

I like my Fleetwood and have not had any problems except for minor things. After living in it for 6 mos. fulltime, you begin to see its strengths and shortcomings. After someone has owned a few different brands, insight becomes real and personal experience becomes the rule. Would I buy a Fleetwood again? Yes, but it would depend.

I never felt Fleetwood was the Top-Of-the-Line, but is is not bad. There are certainly RV's far better and some way worse.

Tiffin has been getting good reviews and customer sat issues are taken care of immediately. Country Coach has gone completely belly up and is totally no more since auctioning off everything down to the last nail. That's the concern most to me. If you buy something, invest huge $$$ and it becomes a dead weight with no way back.

Consider:
How much can you afford? How much can you bend or recover? Scary isn't it?

While many hold onto the RV dream, many more say it's waaaay tooo risky. There are no hard and fast rules. Each purchase is case-by-case, each Rv'er is unique. I met someone who loves to buy broken up RV's just to fix them and get them back on the road again.

Which Motorhome, 5th wheel or TT is best? Is there truly anything but opinions? Maybe a little from the community of owners and your own experience. RV's are no different than autos. There are thousands to choose from and another thousand you never heard of. Do you buy a Ford, Chevy, Toyota or Nissan? and which model, which year? Weaknesses? Strengths?

We love our fleetwood Bounder. Some small but no major issues. I was just at the Lazydays / Fleetwood rally and the factory was there preforming labor free repairs for everyone. The seminars were useful as well.

We go camping with one of our friends that has a 3 year old Discovery and loves it. I also like the fact that Fleetwood put 3 million dollars in an escrow account just before they filed BK to honor there warrantys. That's caring and thinking of your customer's long term. That say's alot about a company.

We are on our second Fleetwood, first one, Tioga was used, no problems. Second one a new Fiesta had problems with it but Fleetwood covered everything under warranty even through the bk and sale.

I'm on my second Fleetwood, My first was a used 1990 Bounder. As stated above I believed the Bounder was the Best for the Buck! The Bounder altough used served my wife and I well in our travels.
When the recession hit last year I thought it would be a good time to buy and upgrade. We went to different RV shows and dealerships looking at new and used.
We came upon a used 05 Southwind with very low miles and we really liked it and bought it. No regrets and we're enjoying it with no problems so far.
I felt the Southwind was a good buy and quality and finish seemed excellent to me.
Also just as stated above it's just like buying a car.
When it comes to buying another, I'll certinly be looking at Fleetwood again! I'll be watching what the newly restructured Fleetwood is doing.

I just bought a 2009 Providence last August after having done the "research" for a couple years. I love it and have no regrets. The support from the dealership has been fantastic. I would buy another.

We have an 08 Fiesta, minor problems, great coach. Would definitely buy a fleetwood again if we had too.
