Good Morning All. Still learning about our new coach. Over the entry door, there is a couple of switches. One is aux, and the other is coach. Can somebody explain them to me? I know they are for power, but I don't how they work. Many thanks.

your description doesnt match mine, but I will assume you're referring to the Battery disconnect switches. one for chassis (starting) and one for coach (aux). these switches operate a relay which opens/closes to disconnect all loads from the respective batteries. usually only need to turn these off if youre putting your coach in storage for extended time, without any shore power, to prevent fantom loads from draining the batteries. If you store the coach where its usually plugged into shore power, then leave these switches on, and be sure to check battery water levels frequently. normal use requires these switches to be on.

Since the electric step needs to be out to exit the motor home, you will need to depress the disconnect switches after the step is out. If you start the engine or run the genset, they will connect again. Which one is which? I always forget but a quick check is to use your overhead light by the wall switch. Welcome to the forum.

Eagles,
Beware that all loads are not removed from the chassis battery by the main disconnect switch. If you plan to store your coach for an extended time without having any way to trickle charge the battery, you should probably use a manual disconnect on it. I found out the hard way; toasted the battery, and now I'm the happy owner of a new one.

I've been wondering this too. Which does what?

My new coach is in the shop right now becasue I have to use the Aux to turn off the engine! Key in hand, engine runs. Of course Aux ALSO turned off my Coach lights. When Iturned off both, My cig lighter cell phone charger was still lit!

I'll assume I have a bad ground, but I'd still like to know EXACTLY what does Main turn off and what does Aux turn off?
