We have two slides on our 37' Pace Arrow that are in need of new awnings. Seeing how we are new to the motorhome world we're looking for some expertise and guidance.
1. What RV parts supplier has the best price and warranty?
2. Do they require special tools to replace?
3. How difficult are they to replace?
4. Anyone know of a replacement guide/instructions?

I have a 2003 Pace Arrow 37a I assume your slide toppers ate the same as mine I replaced mine this spring. It was relatively easy just takes two people and a couple of screwdrivers. I purchased mine from tough top awnings and have been completely satisfied their web address is WELCOME TO TOUGH TOP RV AWNINGS. There are several how toos on their web site. It took my son and I about 2 hours to replace both awnings. Tough Top has an orderform you fill out that is pretty self explanitory. When you order your awnings you will need to know the origional MFG of the awnings, length and depth.

Installation is pretty forward it takes two people.

1 Extend the slides.

2. Roll the awning out full length by hand and pin it in place there is a hole to do this in the awning roller assembly.

3. remove the screws from the track.

4. remove the old awning.

5. install the new awning.

6. reinstall the screws in the track.

7 remove your pin holding the awning full open.

8 adjust any anti furl devices on your awning.

All of this is explained on Tough Tops website.

Also you can check you tube for slideout awning replacement.

My awnings were A & E so my instructions were based on my type of awnings.

I hope this helps

Yep, that's where I'm going to get ours later this year or early next year.

About how much do slide awnings cost? Most likely sold by the foot?

Just had mine replaced at Duncan RV in Elkhart. Cost a bit more as the tube for the longer slideout is no longer perfectly straight and the the mounts had to be replaced to hold it away from the coach where it was rubbing, the other required extra works as a torsion spring had broken and had to be replaced, meant retensioning the assembly. Total for that part of the job with parts, labor and taxes came to $1,400.

I am sure I could have had it done for less in the Yuma area, but I wasn't there and it would have cost the difference to get there

I have replaced my topper awning fabric twice ...first time it was cheap stuff and didn't last but about 3 years. The second time I got good quality fabric. The first time I went to an awning shop in Dallas TX. The second time to a boat cover place in Dayton OH. Mine are CarefreeColorado. After figuring out how to pin the left end of the roller to lock the spring, the rest wasn't all that big a deal. The first time I had a helper to get them off ...each time I have dealt with them since then I have done it by myself.
