My wife and I are thinking of purchasing a 2006 Bounder 34F with 3 slide outs. We have heard horror stories about leaking slides on Bounders. Can anyone give us any information or update on this problem.

rvskipper, welcome to irv2.
You are doing right by asking before buying. Have friends with leaks in their Bounder slides tho not an 06. The leaks involved many trip to different dealers because of travels.
Both slides leaked an fixes didn't work or made them worst. The latest is a new rubber seal that Fleetwood has come up with to fix all their models with leak problems. Maybe your 06 will have the correct seals.
A post below you "trapshooter" has questions on same subject an where to look they may help you. "007"

My dealer installed a new rubber seal in my 2006 Southwind. He was checking my slide awning and didn't like the way the rubber seal looked. This was before I ran into a leaking problem so it must be a well known condition.

I better knock on wood, but we've been in several rain storms this past year, both parked and on the road with no leaks on our '05 Bounder (3 slides).

We just had 3 or 4 days of very heavy rain here in the central California area. We have never had a leak problem, but in light of all this rain I checked the MH and found it dry. I'd expect the Bounder's gaskets to be virtually the same as the Southwind's. Also, we lube the slide gaskets at least once a year.

We have an '04 Prowler Lynyx TT and have had slide leaks while on the road in the rain. Never leaks while parked, slide open or closed. First "repair" didn't work. Second time in the seal was replaced and since then, unfortunately have not been traveling while raining (all last season). It was a warranty issue and if it should happen again, will still be covered. The leaking was through the wheel well.

Hey Bluewind, what do you use to lube the slide gaskets?

Hello Gary,

I have used a Protect All spray on product for rubber slideout seals. It is sold by Camping World and others and costs about 12 dollars a can. I spray it on a rag and use a pole with the rag attached to reach under the slideout topper.I've also read of other lubes incliding talcum powder, but don't have any experience with them.

We have four slides on our Excursion and have never had any leaks- even in heavy thunderstorms with strong winds.
