We have a 50 AMP Smart Energy Management System, Model 900 in our 2001 Fleetwood Discovery. We are hooked up to 30 amp shore power. We are under our 30 amp usage and notice every now and again a quick flicker of "E1" in the load meter. This happens even when we are using 6 or 7 amps. There is no information about this code in the Installation & Service Manual that we have. Can anyone enlighten us as to what it means? Thank you.

Two receptacles now that you mention it. The electric plug behind the passenger seat on the underside of the upper cupboard and the receptacle near the floor on the dash wall between the driver and passenger seat beside the telephone and power point plug. They just stopped working in the last two weeks. Thank you very much.

The receptacles have nothing to do with the Smart EMS, so you have two separate questions here.

I've seen several reports of this E1 code (though I've never seen it on mine) but no explanation of what it means. Apparently nothing to be alarmed about.

They won't help, too much liability to do so.

I looked at the manual that came with ours & there's a trouble shooting section, but nothing about error codes. You can try resetting the EMS to see if that clears the error by shutting off your entire coach power with the battery disconnect switch.

Thank you will try the disconnect. Other than that I guess we'll just leave it then. Thank for all your help.

If the battery disconnect switch doesn't reset it (mine does), there is a procedure for doing it at the EMS itself. Email Intellitec Tech Support and they will send you a write up of the reset procedure (it takes several days to get a response). Or email me and I will send you their Microsoft Word file with the procedure.
