So...This is what my electrical bin looks like

in my 2013 Excursion. I am really nervous about keeping is like this. every time I need to take out my 50A hookup or put it back it is a major nightmare. I envision messing up all sorts of electrical connections, etc. I can barely get the darn thing in there. Getting it out is hard enough.

What have you done to clean up this area. Have it cut and mount a wall plug on the wall some where? Cut it and leave a plug hanging and then just plug in a 50A extension cord (I have one already)?

If I start having this cut and so forth who do you call? A regular electrician? An RV guy?

Why would they make this such a cramped area anyhow?

Suggestions please.

I'd go the pigtail route.

It's real simple ( even for me )
You need a male and female plug. They come with instructions and are color coded.

I am waiting for my portable EMS from CW as we speak. I am afraid to mess with a 50A set up. I am going to call an electrician....lol

I would mount a 50A receptacle in the bin and use the 50A extension cord you already have.
If you need to hire someone to do that get an electrician...(judging by the mess in that bin...me thinks an "RV guy" wired it the 1st place).

lol....That is how it came from the Dealer. I should have done this a long time ago.

Yes, I will plug the EMS to the pigtail to the coach and then my extension cord to the EMS. Should clear things up in there real nice.

Its a marathon and not a sprint for me but I am getting there

That's just plain ugly. Reminds me me of the electrical panel in my old Bounder. I agree, you should definitely put in a receptacle and store the cord elsewhere.

Yep, that's not good at all! What a mess! I'd go with the pigtail idea.

I will get it done in AZ when I take it out there on Wed. I am tired of the "cable wrestling"

It is indeed a shame that Fleetwood would design and sell that rat's nest.

They know how to do it right....they just did not do it on your model.

This is my first post that remotely resembled a "shame on Fleetwood" message.
