Hi,
I have a 2010 40G that is equipped with a solar panel on the roof. I understand by reading threads in various forums that this panel is hooked to the chassis batteries. I have no idea if this system is working as I have not seen any status lights anywhere to indicate activity. I have had this unit for 18 months but have only had use of it for about 8 months due to many warranty issues on the rig and various surgeries on me!! Plus I am still working (supposedly).

Any help/insight on the solar system would be appreciated.

Hello tmmk90 (strange name!),

There should be a little led light on the front inside vent. If it's charging the batteries it will be lit; if not check the battery connections.

Thanks, tmmk90 (Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky since 1990)

Got the cast off my leg this week and ventured up and into my D to check out the front vent....and found nothing but the slides on the sides of the ceiling unit for air to flow directly out of the unit itself, and a twisty screw that when turned gives one access to the air filter.
Maybe Bounders are different than D's???

GO WILDCATS

Guess the only way you will know for sure is to take D to an authorized dealer who has a great shop mechanic or call Fleetwood for schematics and also talk to the parts dept, (usually manned by expert Fleetwood personnel and previously from the assembly line.)

Found it!! It's in the left side basement compartment under the inverters, and it has the illuminated green LED indicating that it is CHARGING. I rolled out from under the D after looking for the block heater cord (no success) coming from the engine, and while on my elbows I just happened to see a green light under bottom inverter. Kinda a odd place to put it (IMO), but I guess no stranger than mounting the inverters upside down (as Fleetwood did). Also noticed resets on are on the very back of the right side of inverter about three inches from the wall. It hard enough to see them stuck in the back of compartment, but of course the writing explaining about the resets IS UPSIDE DOWN AS WELL!! I guess I'll have to get a mechanics mirror to see what the writing says WHILE STANDING ON MY HEAD.

Glad that all is well and now you know your D a little better.
