Solenoid location

The main batteries are drawing down every 24 hours and will only charge from the engine running. They will not charge from either the generator or shore power even though the inverter/charger indicates “gel pack 1 charging.” Fuses have been checked so now I want to find the solenoid that controls charging power between the generator and shore power to the main batteries. Where is/are the solenoid located???

Sounds like the converter / inverter to me. Have you checked there?

You may be correct about the inverter but I'm trying to check the small dollar items before I go to the deep pocket stuff. Thanks for the suggestion.

Solenoids

Mine just got replaced by the dealer in my 03 Pace Arrow that I just purchased from him! Now they are saying they need to replace a board! All on their nickle!
The solenoid's in mine were located under the hood in the black box that the battery cables run too. Be careful please!

Just had to replace mine. My main is over the door when you turn it off and on you should here a click from under the hood. The black box on the right side is where it is located, there is a wiring diagram on inside of cover make sure you remove the positive terminal first.

What year/make/model of RV are we talking about? Component layouts and electrical designs vary widely.

You probably have a component called a BCC - Battery Control Center (or Battery Charge Controller) that has a solenoid relay that connects the chassis battery to the house system IF (and only if) the house batteries reach an adequate charge level. It could be from RVP or Intelletec and could be in a dozen different places, depending on year, brand, floor plan and model.
