Question SouthWind carpet replacing question??

Hello to all, Happy Daylight Savings Season.....
We are considering the removal of the main salon, LR carpet and replacing with a new vinyl product. When I inspected our Rigs' Salon area, the couch/dinette 'slide out' has a very smooth, very very tight almost 'sled-like' bottom, on the inside. When this slide is 'out', you can see a definite impression on the main floor carpeting. My "Concern" is whether this very smooth, very tight bottom will scratch, or damage, or get stuck/rub on a new laminate-vinyl floor when going out and, back in??

Has anyone replaced the main salon/L.R. carpeting??

Any scratching....rubbing....damage to new floor from the large Drivers Side Slideout??

Thanks, again ...

We replaced the carpeting in our 2003 Expedition with wood simulated vinyl, and are very pleased with the new floor. I decided to let the carpeting that goes under the dirver side slide to remain, because I was concerned about slide clearance. I have attached a PIC of the finished product.
