kngoftheroad...first of all - Welcome to iRV2! This is a great group of RV owners that are very friendly and willing to help. Congrats on your new rig!
I am not a Southwind owner - so I am just throwing something out there that might help.
Do you have jacks and are they down? The beeping could be coming from the jacks. It seems to me that some coaches will not let you start engines until the jacks are up. (It is a precautionary measure so you don't drive off the jacks.)
OK... that is all I can come up with now.. so good luck... I hope it is something as simple as that!
Again Welcome to iRV2..we do hope you visit & post often!

Check the position of your battery disconnect switches, hose (aux) and chassis (engine). I think a Southwind has both types of disconnect. They were in a compartment above the door on our old Southwind, but that was many years ago.
Where does the beep come from? Under the dashboard or elsewhere?
Can you be more specific? Does "no power" mean no lights, fridge off, etc. or just can't crank the engine? Does "won't start" mean the engine cranks but does not run or that it won't crank at all?

From your post, it sounds like the genny runs OK and maybe the batts are OK, too. You can check the batts by pushing the "main" and "aux" buttons on the ECM to make sure they are somewhere around 12.4V. Also, if they measure 13.xV when plugged into shore power or on generator, your converter is OK.
But, first things first to start the engine - is the tranny in PARK? Is the parking brake ON?

If a slid is out ,jacks down, not in park, plugged in to shore power or other things a jack just part way down can cause Your trouble lower then raise them again some times they need a reset... some units will not start as My works that way built in safety interlocks. Check Your hand book thats the first thing to do and if all is OK then call the hot line or help line in Your book Good luck Bushman

The beeping may be from the LP gas detector... it's down by the floor in the kitchen area... switch should be on the front.
Like someone else mentioned... Sounds like you have the AUX battery switch turned on but NOT the Engine battery switch...

They actually still are on my old Pace. Be aware, also, that they appear to be on/off switches, but in reality they toggle, at least, mine do. I can switch the batteries on or off by simply hitting the switch in the same direction.
Note that when the house batteries first get switched on, the sniffer starts beeping; cycle it once, and it goes off. OR, if the charge gets tool low, it will keep beeping.
Don't know if this helps, but good luck and travel safe.

Without any feedback, we all seem to be shooting in the dark here. Any more info to add, kngoftheroad?
