My dealer finally fixed the squeaky dash on my 2004 Pace Arrow, by replacing the undersized screws that attach the dash support to the sidewall. These screws are just inside the hood, on both sides. The originals were Phillips-head, and appeared to be #10 or #8 about 1 1/2" long. Many were broken off, some were missing, all the others were loose. They were replaced with hex-head screws which appear to be #6 by 1".

At our recent California Pacers rally I told the other 2004 owners about this repair. They had all also been suffering with a squeaky dash, and when we checked these screws on their coaches we found many were missing, and the others were loose.

Thanks for the suggestion Jim. I too have an '04 36B. Although I haven't noticed this problem as yet, I'll definitely check the screws.

Thanks Jim for the info. I have a '05 36Z Bounder and have a sqeaky dash as well. I have narrowed it down to the area just to the right of the rear view screen. I will look at the mounting screws. Thanks again.

Jim, thanks for the info. The squeaky dash has been driving the DH crazy and she in-turn has been driving me crazy. I checked my Bounder and "sho'nuf" they were loose and/or missing.

Does anyone have a photo of these dash/sidewall supports? I checked under the hood of our Southwind and I'm not exactly sure of what I'm looking for.

Thanks,
Paul

I'll be in my rig this weekend and will take a picture. I'll try to post it on Sunday evening.

I couldn't figure out how to post photos in this reply, so I sent them to Bluewind via email.

Tallguy... Following your problem with loose dash screws I did check and found the same problem. None were missing but a few were loose.

By the way, I meant to mention this on my last post. For all us '04 and newer Pace Arrow owners. If you haven't checked take a look at the nuts that hold the headlight assembly's onto the back of the fiberglass front cap. Every one of mine were finger tight. Since Fleetwood did not install lockwashers I replaced all of mine with those plastic lock nuts.

Try metal star washers they will grip the nut or screw and the surface your mounting to. I had a Bounder once. "007"
