On my 03 Southwind, the batteries are located below the second step. The step/cover has 3 screws (acme thread) Two in the front corners, and one in the center rear. The rear screw goes down thru a 3/16 or so piece of steel. My question is...the anchor for the screw is missing. I've checked with Dan Gamels parts dept, and they said, the plate is tapped..it's not...and never was. There had to be some kind of anchor/nut/tinnerman..the screw went into. Does anyone know..or could they look on theirs and let me know. I'd sure appreciate it. I have a call into Fleetwood, but so far, they haven't come up with anything. They are looking and were very nice on the phone. The front corners, have a clip, type anchor, but the plate in the rear center, would not allow the same clip/anchor. Thanks for your help.

You maybe able to place an expandable toggle bolt into hole the anchor will remain but bolt can be removed to gain access to batteries. They come in different sizes an you may have to enlarge hole for size bolt you will want to use. "007"
