New owners of a 2012 32VS Southwind. Does anyone have any good suggestions for storage when idle? We are in SC and will be parking in an open but secured area. We plan to use the coach weekly, but it will sit between. We will be using a full cover to give general protection and general cleaning/waxing etc. What tips do people have for general storage like this for the interior and appliances etc. Is it best left covered and closed tightly or vented. No power is available at the site. Thanks!

If the coach will not be connected to shore power, open the fridge and freezer doors.
Unless you hit harsh environments waxing twice a year should be sufficient.
If it's dirty wash it, especially if you are putting a cover on it. The road grime and dirt will turn your cover into sand paper.
Pad sharp areas to protect the cover.
If parked on other than concrete or asphalt, ply wood under the tires..
Keep tanks and drains clean to prevent odors from accumulating.
Disconnect batteries, using disconnect switch, unless connected to shore power or you are using solar panel to keep batteries charged. Even with everything shut off there are still ghost drains on power.
Crack open the roof vents for circulation.
Best I can do at 2:30 AM
Others will chime in as well with many great suggestions

After winterizing and pulling my D in the storage wearhouse for the winter I put ant bait trays in various locations in the basement. Like where the critters are most likely to attempt to break in, as in the fresh water/black water compartment, the electrical compartment where the shore line exits that compartmenet. On top of the tires, water heater compartment, etc. I also throw mouse bait bags in the basement compartments as well. I usually just put them inside the doors as mice like to run along the walls. Then in the spring i can see if any of the bags have been eaten into. I also put both ant treys and bait bags where pipes come into cabinets under sink in kitchen and vanity. I lastly put 2 or 3 of both ant and mouse bait on top of the galley counter top.

And lastly and most improtantly I put 3 or 4 containers of dri-air from front to rear of the coach on the floor to eliminate any humidity problem I might have.

OOPS!! Don't forget to put some crushed newspaper in the freezer and chiller (leave doors open) side of your fridge along with a box of arm and hammer in each side also. I put newspapers and arm and hammer in both washer and dryer to combat any foul orders or humidity.

Bill
