Strange Problem AC Revolution
On my first month with my new revolution and I've got a strange issue and I'm not sure where to start. If I press the windshield washer button on the steering wheel the headlights come on and I can't seem to turn them off no matter what I try. Cycling the ignition is the only thing that will turn them off. It wouldn't be a huge problem right now, but it dims the GPS and Freightliner display making it hard to read. Any Ideas until I can get to a service center?

Not positive about this, but it may be a feature, rather than a problem. Several states now require that headlights be on while while wipers are on. Manufacturer may simply be complying with law.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lights are triggered by the wipers, but i would expect them to turn off when the wipers were no longer on. I would understand it if the lights were on while the wipers were on, but a quick press of the windshield washer shouldn't condemn me to dim gauges until the next time I cycle the engine.

Read the fine print in the manual, it's all explained there. I have an issue with my cruise control...it's on the other side of the "Smart Wheel." The accel/resume features are wired backwards...once I figured that out, I was fine.

According to the manual
Activation of any wiper function generates a "Headlamp On" signal from the Master which will only be reset by turning off the ignition or by activating then deactivating the dashboard headlamp switch.
---
I get that the lights are activated by a wiper function, but cycling the dash light switch doesn't seem to tun them off again. Only an ignition cycle will turn them off

Have you tried to contact American Coach/Fleetwood Customer Service? I have found them incredibly helpful. I don't have their number handy right now, but a google search will locate it. Just a thought....

I am a software developer, based on your excerpt from the manual below this is what we call "working as designed". No idea WHY it is designed that way, but it isn't a bug.

Silly functionality, but you must hit headlamp ON before hitting off after you initiate a wiper feature. Otherwise the headlamps will not turn off.
