Sun visor switches

We just purchased a 2008 FW Discovery 40x and the front curtains do not cover the whole window. The assumption is that you will lower your sun visors? or was there a full curtain at some point? The way it is, I get frustrated that I have to find my keys and turn on the ignition to activate the switches to lower the shade at night. I plan on changing the wiring to the switches to make them hot all of the time ie no key needed to lower the shades. Has anyone done this? Any helpful hints? I am not sure that I will be able to get to the wires to change the pwr input.

I have done that. My Bounder has a single electric shade across the windshield. Original installation was the switch was on the drivers left console and wired thru the ignition switch. I extended the wires and relocated the switch to a blank space in the center dash switch panel. At the same time I wired it to a allways hot wire. Being a single shade it is now accessable to both driver and passenger.
