Super-slide wouldn't come in. Is this normal?

We were on our first trip in our 2015 American Tradition 42G this weekend. I started to pull the slides in and as you know the super slide bottom comes in first to lift the slide, then the top leans in and it comes on in and the slide locks engage.
The other 2 slides worked fine but the super slide bottom came in......and came in......and came in, the top would not kick over. I knew we were just a little low on the drivers side so I ran the jacks down to lean the coach to the passenger side and tried it again. This time the bottom came in and the top "kicked" over to meet the bottom and came in just fine and the slide locks engaged.
Is this normal?

Were you level when you initially tried to pull the slide in? Don't mean to insult your RV knowledge and you probably know this, but normal progression for departing a CG is start the engine, slides in, and jacks up.

OP mentioned he was low on drivers side when bringing in slide.

Yes its normal. IMO it shouldnt be, but slide systems CAN be super picky if not level. Too much using while not level can actually cause damage to slide systems.

Sounds like you solved the issue, and figured out how to prevent it in the future!

Yes, we were on jacks using auto level, but I knew we were low on the drivers side. I guess I just didn't want to admit it. Lol. I never used the auto level in our Coachmen with the Lippert system because I knew it was never right. This being our first trip in our new Tradition I was hoping it would be different. Lesson learned. Never trust any automatic system.
Just part of the learning curve of a new coach.
i came home today and started checking with my trusty 4 foot level. The air leveling is more accurate than the jacks. I also brought in the manual so I can figure out how to recalibrate the hydraulic system.
I air level in our driveway and I tried it several times today when I got home. Worked flawlessly.
Lesson learned. I'm sure there will be many more.

It's always something, I leveled one time and later that day I notice it wasn't level. I looked underneath and saw a jack sinking in the pavement.

I have heard so many problems with slide, It is usually just my wife and I, I have to say I really am glad I do not have any slides, that is one problem I will never have to deal with.
