My mattress is pretty thick. It's a pillow top. It compresses a little bit (inch or 2?) when the slide/bed comes in under the cabinets. No problem at all.

King won't fit through door. I switched out the crappy original king with a new one. To get each through door we folded the mattress in half and wrapped a rope around it from one end to the other TIGHTLY. It will then slide through door.

Watch the door latch or it will tare the matress going through.

I have a king and just pull the whole mattress down the platform to make bed then push up again.

That's what we do too.

KING SIZE ---out

If you have a Bounder 33C and love the king that's fine. Just wondering how you keep your butts from dragging on the wall getting in and out of bed on the bathroom side of the bed. I'm not fat challenged either. King bed is too big. My change had nothing to do with changing the sheets. We still slid the Queen mattress down to change the sheets etc.

We also have Bounder 33c with king. Would not down size for any reason. We do pull mattress down to end to change sheets, but getting in/out is art. Would not give up the room though, DW, me & 1 dog take up a lot of room. Tried to make dog get off, DW said I could sleep on couch, nice to have the king for all of us.

Bounder king mattress

Thanks to all who sent suggestions, I was able to measure the bed etc and found out it is the smaller king and is about 72 inches wide not the 80 like a full king, so the least work without modifying something we would have to go to a queen and probably is not the thing to do, so will live with it as is and keep pulling mattress down to be able to put on the sheets, I did put a couple of 2x4 smooth sides up like masonite and this does make it easier to pull the mattress down and pushing back in place, so will probably not change anything else, thanks again for all input and travel safe.
