Thetford Tecma Toilet Question

We are the proud owners of a 2015 Discovery 40E that has the bath and a 1/2 that we love since we are full timers. My question is, the seat on the electric flush toilet is loose and seems the only way to tighten it is by taking the toilet loose at the floor and moving it away from the wall to get to the fasteners that hold the seat on. Has anyone had to do this and what should I look out for when taking the toilet loose?

You're right Roger ... recommend you mark the toilet flange position on the floor with a pencil - remove the 4 hold-down screws and carefully slide the toilet forward about 6 inches. I used a ratchet with an extension and I believe a 7/8 socket to slide in from the rear of the toilet to fit over the 2 'wing-like' nuts holding the seat. Tighten carefully -

Then using the pencil marks realign the toilet and put the screws back in with some toothpick fillers ... pretty quick job ...

Be careful movig it, There is no flange, it is "plumbed" to teh waste tank (Like a sink) not a flange connection like a house or sea-land toilet.

SO move it carefully till you know how far you can move it.. When you go to put it back just linke up the holes with teh holes in the floor

Or you can mark the outline of the base with a marker and that may help return it to position.. I had no problem with method 1.

If you can, Please take pictures of the bolts from the NUT side. Thanks

Thank you for the advice. I will be very careful when I try to move it forward. Mine is right up against the wall so I don't know if I can get a picture of the hinge bolts are not. But I will try so I can see what it looks like back there.
