TV in 2005 Fleetwood Fiesta 32S

I just purchased a used Fiesta and the TV is on it's last leg. On this model the TV is recessed in the dash. It's also an anolog unit. Has anyone know of a retrofit to flat screen that would fit in the dash area. If the current tv is removed it leaves a huge hole in the dash. I plan on replacing the TV and using direct tv and satellite. I'm new to the MH experience, purchased a Class C in March and now have upgraded to the Class A Fiesta. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bobby Lott

You didn't mention the size of the opening, so it's hard to suggest anything. They make LCD tvs in all sizes, from 4" on up, so finding one to fit (more or less) should be easy enough. Making a mount for it will require some creativity, though.

It's not so much the size of the TV that has me stumped but rather how the old one is installed. It is actually recessed in the dash. The dash is made to accept the old type tube tv, almost like the dash was built around the tv. I was curious how this hole in the dash may have been remidied by others.

We have a Terra 32S, 2005.
The tv is held in place by two little black plates at the bottom front; also, an adjustable strap run over the top back is used to hold the tv firmly. The dash around the tv can be removed (at least partially) by removing the trim screws that have plastic caps on them.
Coca-Cola was spilled into the tv, so we had to get it fixed ($130 wow). (better than replacing- I had the same issues about fitting another tv in to the same place. I suggest keeping the tv and adding another somewhere else. We have a digital converter, so it still works for us.
Good luck!!!

I replaced both TVs in my Pace Arrow 37A with 32 inch LCDs. They are great. The front one was the most work but not hard at all. I made sure the TV would fit between the 2 cabnet doors. Then I made a plate to fit in the opening which was recessed just enough to hide the mounting plate for the new TV. I lined the old opening with strips of plywood set back just enough to be able to screw a face plate of plywood with the mounting plate on it. Make sure the plate is in the correct position so you have a little space above the new TV for venting. I used a "Tilt" only plate on mine. I cut a couple of holes in the front plate to allow cables to pass through. The new TV does set out from the old opening. It is high enough and has not been a head banger for me. I am 6 foot tall andi t has been no problem.
I even added a 12 foot HDMI cable that i keep coiled in the overhead Cabnet and pull it out to hook up my laptop.
I the bedroom I put the new TV over the cabnet at the foot of the bed instead of the corner cabnet. I got a great deal at $300 for each TV from Costco and it was not worth paying more for a smalled unit in the bedroom. I mounted it the same way and ended up with a lot more storage in the old TV hole.
Not to mention the I decreased the wieght on the RV significantly. Both new TVs together wieghed less than the small one in the bedroom!
Putting the TVs outside the old cabnets lets you up the size significantly. Just be sure it does not get in the way, each RV is different. Also the profile of the TV is important to think about. Be sure to check the overall demencions, not just the size of the screen!
