Upgraded HVAC Thermostat

I've slowly have been bringing my 1999 American Coach Eagle into the 21st century... already done TV's to flat screens, HDMI, replaced most all lighting inside and outside with LED, dash radio to Bluetooth, just to name a few, ha-ha....

Now to Thermostats, replaced old "slide for operation" with digital. I've used them for the last week and there near spot on.
Part number Coleman 83303362

Pros:
1. Wired right up, same color wiring, they came with wire nuts, but I used standard automotive style butt connectors.
2. Now shows room temperature on display, touch either setting button and set point temperature is displayed.
3. Easy to use controls, the old Thermostat would sometime "click" to far.

Cons-
1. No backlight, it'd be awesome if the unit had a backlight that came on when set point button was pushed, still have to turn on a light to see it at nite.
2. Not programmable, no issue to me, but to a full-time person I can see this a must have.
3. A little pricey at $57 each off Amazon. Could have used a household model from a box store for less, but I wanted to retain the high/low speed feature.

Hopefully this little upgrade will be of benefit to someone else here.
Peace!

Nice job. I did the same thing but used a thermostat that takes a battery which has programming and backlighting. You would probably lose the two speed feature I think.

Did the same thing with a home thermostat w/battery. Didn't worry about the low speed on the fan since I never use it anyway, the backlight very nice feature at night.
