V10 AC hose
We are scheduled to move into our 2015 Bounder 35K Saturday when we put our house on the market. About 10 days ago, the hose on the AC (not in the "house", but in the cab), blew out. Our dealership took it to an AC place they use, they couldn't fix it, it went back to the dealership, they called Fleetwood. Fleetwood said they could get a hose, but it would be the end of July. So, it's now at a Ford dealership and they are "making" a hose. Of course, given all that, our being able to move in on Saturday is probably not going to happen. What questions should we be asking? Any suggestions about other options? We don't need the cab AC, we're only driving it about 30 miles to the RV park, but if we do that, then we would have to take it back in when the right hose arrives and risk it taking another two weeks. Any suggestions? I guess I'm just surprised that it would take more than six weeks to get an AC hose, but we're new at this. And, I know RV repairs/maintenance ALWAYS take longer than planned. Thanks for letting me vent!

Many shops and auto parts stores can make a high pressure hose with the proper fittings to fit your application. I'm a bit surprised at the lack of suggestion that a hose be fabricated rather than wait for an 'official' part. I bet it's still under warranty.

Yes, they are fabricating a hose and it's still under warranty. So, we'll see what happens!

Well, as usual that sucks...but what can we do? At least you have the "house" a/c in the summer heat. Good luck.

I'm glad it's fixed. I know you mentioned that a hose could be fabricated, but it seems like Fleetwood and the Ford service department should have been more ready to go that route to make a hose, especially when they learned it would be 6 weeks to get one shipped. Any reason given for the failure of the hose? Was it rubbing or cut by something? Many times a high pressure line made by locally could be equal or superior to a mass produced one.

I would ask them to disconnect the A/C clutch lead and cap it off till they get a hose.. Fire up the Generator and use ROOF air for your trip..
Side note: Generators should be exercised at least1/2hour under at least 1/2 load every month.
You did say 30 miles to the RV park Sounds like the ideal time to exercise the genny!!!!!
Off topic recommendation: Get a Gen-Turi for the genny.. YOu do not need it driving,,, But if you ever want to turn the Genny due to boondocking, or power failure.. Good thing to have
Suggestion two: Install a high current (at least 30 amp) outlet in a basement compartment.. Get a custom cord made up install a proper INLET on your house (IF that is you store the RV at home) and generator transfer panel.. Since your RV generator is 120 volt not 120/240 you can only put selected loads on the RV.. Fridge.. Freezer.. Furnace.. Lights,, Computers and communication gear,, Entainerment gear. Leave at least one key centrally located light OFF the panel When power fails hook up to RV. Fire up Genny, FLip transfer switches and turn ON that key light.
When KEY LIGHT comes on.. Transfer back to MAINS. SHut off Generator.. I leave it up to you if you wish to disconnect now or later (I did it later.. I mean the reliability of power company today.....)

We had similar questions that we hope to get answered tomorrow when we pick it up.
