Vacuflush issues

I have a 2012 Fleetwood Southwind 36D and have been experiencing vacuflush vacumn issues. The pump cycles every couple minutes indicating there is a leak in the system someplace. I took it to Lazy Days in Flordia during the FMA rally and Rob the Technician was able to figure out what the problem is after a couple days troubleshooting. He sealed all the joints and thought it was fixed. We took the RV back to the camp ground but the vacuflush stilled cycled every couple minutes. Rob worked with the local Fleetwood rep and found out there was a batch of flanges that have hairline cracks. Rob did the troubleshooting advised by Fleetwood and sure enough that was the problem. He found a hairline crack in the 1/2 bath flange. Since they did not have the flanges in stock and both flanges had to be ordered I asked him to lay a bead of superglue down the crack. He reinstall both toliets and we went back to the campground. The parts have been ordered so we will take the coach back in 10 days or so but it appears the superglue sealed the crack since the vacuflush system is holding vacumn. I have to hand it to Rob the technication, he is one of the best techs I have seen. So if your vacuflush pump is cycling then you got a leak. The hairline cracks are a known issue in Fleetwood and I have to assume at some point they will do a recall but in the meantime this kind of problem is a real headache.

Glad you have your vacuflush problem solved, mine cycles a few times an hour. I changed the vacuum switch and will be looking at the flanges and duckbill valves next. Great information, thanks for sharing.

Vacu-flush

When we first got our 2010 Bounder 35H, I had an intermittent vacuum leak. It was at the bowl seal. I tightened up the flange clamp located under the toilet bowl and this helped. I noticed that if you push the pedal up and down a couple of times when you flush, this keeps the seals clean to keep water in the bowl and no vacuum leak. I haven't had a problem in the past couple of years.
