Well, we finally found the fabric, found the time and found the nerve to recover the valances. You'll have to hunt for the screws, clips and other ingenious methods of attachment. Odd positions are occasionally required, Yes, there were a LOT of staples. Someone at manufacturing gets paid by the staple and they are very rich. I think all Valance and Lamberquin designs are different, our had 7 different pieces of wood, some thick, some thin, some padded, some not. The valance had to be taken completely apart in order to get to all the pieces. We did one unit at a time, finishing it before starting the next one. Materials were about $200 and labor was about 6-8 hours PER unit, depending on the number of staples. It took an average of 3 hours each just to remove the old fabric and staples. We removed the old fabric carefully and used it for a pattern to cut the new material. We also took numerous picture as we were taking the units apart in case we needed the reference. Marked each piece carefully to ID it. In the end, it's worth it!! Happy with the results!! Thanks to all for the previous advice and encouragement to 'give it a shot'.
Next week, the bench dinette comes out!!
