If you can not find the VIN on the box, you can get it from the vehicle frame rail. If it is on a Ford or Chev (you did not say) call or go to the truck service and they can tell you where on the frame the truck VIN is stamped. You might have to get some cleaner,sandpaper,mirror and flash light get under the vehicle and clean 18 years of road dirt off the location but it is there.
