Finally starting to thaw out here in southwest Michigan ,So starting to remodel the Pace with Vinyl click lock planks My question is when I pull the couch out and chair how do I install them back as it says I need at least 3/8 of in inch for expansion(as the couch bolts to the floor)...

If I understand correctly, you need clearance around the bolt that goes into or through the floor.
I assume the bolt might be 1/4" or 3/8". I would drill a 3/4" hole in the flooring, at that location, before you install that piece of flooring.

Ok that's what I was thinking but wanted to get opinion from others with the hot and cold want to be safe plus this stuff isn't cheap

Oh now that I think about it that wont help because I have to tighten the bolts down to hold couch to floor thus making it useless to make holes oversized

I disagree. It's useful and necessary for the expansion of flooring and it's useful to have the hole oversized in order to get the bolts lined up and not shift the flooring around.

I agree with that part of it the holes what I mean is the fact that if I bolt the couch back to the floor it will not allow the floor to expand as it will be held in place by the couch

This expansion thing is probably geared to a home where you have a larger area then a coach. I'd just bolt it right thru that material. If that material needs 3/8 inch to expand- how much would it need to contract?

Instructions say 3/8 to 1/2 inch from walls to allow for both expansion and contraction but don't know if its really needed im guessing some would be needed as this isn't glued or taped but who knows.

i was told by someone that its best to drill the hole in the planks larger

Yes that's true but if ya bold couch back down wouldn't that hold planks hard to the floor not allowing them to move

Got it figured out the couch is just on 4 legs so going to cut vinyl out big enough to allow 1/4 in space around legs and on the pedestal chair going to mount right to floor and do the same as couch leave 1/4 around the base that should be good to go..... Thanks to those who helped
