Apparently you know something the maker of my leveling jacks does not??

The RVA jack "Operating Instructions" state:
"When jacks are fully extended, occasionally wipe dirt from the jack ram/rod.
This will help lengthen life of jack.
WD-40 will serve as a solvent as well as a lubricant".

Mel,

If it works for you, go for it!

WD-40 has never worked very well for me using it for a lubricant whereas the Tri-Flow has been an EXCELLENT lubricant for numerous uses and purposes throughout my coach and engine. Plus it never attracts dirt and other crap like WD-40 does.

That's what makes this forum so useful to RVer's. They can acquire knowledge and experience from numerous folks that have actually used the products.

Agree, that's why I spray it on my jacks then wipe it all off, followed by silicone.

Apparently you don't believe the "pertinent point" of the the quote from the "RVA Jack Operating Instructions", that being: "WD-40 will serve as a solvent as well as a lubricant".

Important point: Lets not forget that there is more than one type of WD-40, I use only WD-40 white lythium gease spray, I used it on all moving parts, great grease and excellent rust protection.

Correct!
In addition to the original WD-40 lubricant, penetrating oil and water-displacing spray, WD-40 makes 8 "specialty products".

Correct. My "Jack Operating Instructions" say nothing about WD 40 being a lubricant. In fact, the instructions with my sailboat say do not us WD 40 for anything on the boat (unless is immediately wiped off) because it collects all sorts of crud. For a lube, use silicone or a dry lube.
