Before I start tearing into things maybe someone has some experience here. My backup camera has always worked fine. When I got the coach out one time a while back, the camera stopped working and it had been when I put the coach away the last time. I had audio but no video so the fuse is good? This last trip the situation is the same although the audio is fuzzy and it seems to have an engine whine but it never did before.
Any ideas??? Thanks for your help.

This doesn't directly answer your question but I have had intermittent video problems with my backup camera. The sound has always worked but after awhile on, the video will cut out. I turn it off and on right away and it works again. A friend with a Bounder said it was the connector at the camera which is causing the intermittent problem. So far, I have not climbed up to fiddle with the connection so your situation may be different.

My Weldex would go blank. Replaced the connectors on each end. End of problem.

Glad to hear about the connectors, I have the same problem on my 32V. I wonder why it works after you turn it off and wait a few seconds? if it is the connectors?

What kind of connectors are they and where did you get them?

hondo122.......any answer for me?
Does anybody else out there happen to know what these connectors are? Is this camera and monitor connected with one each RG-type video cable and a power cable or just the video cable?

Sorry, I had the dealer replace them so I honestly don't know what they look like. Just know they were replaced and solved the problem. They replaced the connectors on each end.

Like hondo122: my dealer replace the camera connectors and problem was gone. Technician said something about moisture being able to get in OEM connectors causing corrosion and loss in signal strength or power; thus the picture fades or is lost. That turning the system off and then back on you causes a slight power surge and momentarily improve the contact.

I'd try some electronic contact spray cleaner first....at least that's what I'm going to do.

I run an '06 Bounder 33R. The only problem I have experienced with it, is the Weldex back-up camera. Last year, I too started experiencing intermittant video, in both the day/nite modes. Re-powering used to do the trick. Then, after a 7 hour run home, last November, it was dead. Checked the power to the monitor and fuse. All good. My RV guys pulled the camera, checked for good, seal connections etc and confirmed that. They pulled the camera and had it bench-tested and it had completely failed. My warrenty took care of it, -$50 to me.

my weldex did the same I found that the connector under the dash was mashed against other wires moved them over and my camera got better, I then cleaned the lens on the back and the pituure looked good as new. found out that if you let the camera lens get dirty the piture will jump (turning the power on/off corrects for awhile). 2005 Southwind 32vs.

The better back-up cameras try to auto adjust their sensitivity for the ambient light level. Dirt or water droplets on the lens can fool it into making an adjustment you may not want.

The Weldex B/W rear view system is one of the worst systems out there. Mine would go blank, get horizontal lines across it and fade in and out. I did the obvious things like seal the connectors to prevent water intrusion, verified I had a good ground and clean 12V power coming in. It still acted up, i replaced it with a Voyager LCD color system for Rvcam.com. Tim at Rvcams.com confirmed that Weldex systems were problematic and they did not carry them. The Weldex uses a 4 pin Din connector at each end and Rvcams had adaptor cables for each end to allow the 4 pin Din to work with the Voyager system.
