Well it finally happened.

After 130K miles the original alternator quit on my Cummins and left me stranded just off I-64 in Bristow IN. It started right at sunset when I noticed my lights were unusually dim and then BAM!!! A hard bang and The transmission check light came on. Looking down at my voltage it wasn't being registered. Reverted back to the forum for further guidance ran the genny to charge the batteries. Was going to take off but nightfall caught me. Decided to stay put and call Good Sam Roadside Assistance. They sent a wrecker and wanted to flat tow it 60 miles. No way!! After going back and forth with them about what they were going to pay/cover. I now have a new alternator 85 bucks for a hour labor and 200 bucks for a alternator. Planning on having the old one rebuilt. Now onward to NC before something else happens fivers crossed.

Next time jumper the chassis batteries to the house batteries and start the genset. Then keep on driving until you can get a new alternator installed.
