There are sprays sold that are labeled as being for "slideout seals." I would start with those before I tried some "home brew" products.

There's one product that works well in several areas. It is a bit expensive but it sure does work and that's Aerospace Protectorate 303.

It can be sue as an exterior wax on the RV. It treat my tires on both sides and it's god for any type of rubber product.

We have a kitchen window that my DW can't move. When it was under warranty they replaced the gasket and it was no better. I tried every product I had in my bag of tricks which included all the wet or dry silicon, baby powder, talcum powder, bees wax solution etc, etc. Nothing worked for more than a day or two. Then I remembered the 303. It worked and is still working. Yes I have to apply it about every 4-6 weeks but no big deal. The window does slide.

I buy it by the gallon from Amazon.
