Windshield wipers for 2008 Fleetwood Providence

Need windshield wipers for 2008 40 Fleetwood Providence DP. The wipers are on the small side the previous owner must have replaced them with something else.
Would like to have the max I could install. Any advice? Pre Thanks

I have 28" wiper blades on my 2008 Providence, one thing I did when I got sticker shock for the complete blade assemblies I picked up some blade only replacements from autozone.
The factory wiper arms use a bolt on blade assembly not a clip on like our cars, if the arms are not the ones that the blade assembly bolts on with 2 screws then you most likely will have to buy arms and blades.

I have a 2008 Excursion (the alias for Providence), and I had the same reaction to the wipers. I told the dealer "that can't be right". I was expecting large bus-style wiper for that massive windshield, and there is plenty of room in the path for larger wipers.

BUT... I have not yet dared replace them, because the rest of the assembly (motor and control arms) is most likely sized for the current smaller wipers. I haven't checked them out yet. And the smaller wipers actually seem to be OK when driving in the rain.

Reason I have been hesitant: Adding much larger wipers will proportionally increase the load and stress on both wiper-motor and any connecting rods, all depending on the amount of water (lubrication between rubber and glass) on the windshield at a given time.

So buyer beware.. Adding larger wipers might also at some point leave you stranded in the rain with no wipers at all, unless all the other parts have the necessary strength and dimensions to push those big wipers around under all conditions.

Understand your concern but I think I will chance it, we don't use them that much.

Wiper Blades

I just replaced one on my 2008 Discovery and it was a 26''. I got a blade at Autozone and was able to rig it up to the fitting (with the screws) with a small rivet. I hear some people talk about getting the replacement blades that slide into the old blade holder, but I don't know were they find them.

Just a thought and not related to blade size, that's another post as to price point! I got a tip from the forum last year about using the product "Rejex" on the front cap and windshield. It's very similar in consistency to liquid wax and applied the same manner. The big plus is, it sheds water like rainex, but it last a least a month or longer depending on how often you need to clean or wash the front.. Big plus, bugs etc. generally wash off with just a hose spray. I've traveled all day with rainy conditions and never turned on the wipers. Try it!
