Wipers not returning back to center 2000 Southwind

I have a 2000 Southwind that is having issues with the wipers. The wipers are working but what is happening is they will not always return to center when turned off. Right now the wipers return to the outside of the windshield. I some times have to take off the wipers and reposition them, but then after I use they are not in the center again. The switch is working like it should on High Low, etc. Any ideas what might be causing this problem. I have read it might be the Wiper control module. If that is the case any idea where this is located, or how to trouble shoot the problem. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure but in my past as a Buick mechanic, and that has been a long time, the w/s motor assy. also housed the "parking" controller. It sounds like it is just out of adjustment. If I remember correctly, you should take the wiper arms off of their mounts and turn the wipers on. Then turn them off and re-install the arms to the mounts at the correct position. That should more or less re-configure the controller. Hope this is all correct. It's been a long time.

Had that problem in my 2000 Winne and found out there was a circuit board in the wiper motor that went bad. You can buy the circuit board at most any auto supply place. I replaced the whole motor for not a lot of difference in price

I probably fixed 50 motorhomes with this problem. The number one problem was the bracket that attaches to the wiper motor. Your motorhome has one motor that works both wipers. There is a bracket that hooks to both arms and actuates the blades. If the nut that holds the bracket to the motor arm gets slightly loose, the arms will get out of sync. Put the wipers in park. Go under the hood and loosen the nut on the wiper motor. Put the wipers in the park position and tighten the nut. One other thing. Make sure the motor arm has not spun enough to wear away the serrations on the bracket. If so you will have to replace the bracket. I think you will be O.K. since this has only happened a couple of times.
