Question Would you purchase a new Excursion again?

Would like to hear your thoughts on the Excursion. Is it like the Palazzo by Thor, e.g. Problems? Concerned about the power, e.g. Tow rating is 10k with Allison 2100 and 300 hp engine. Looking at 33D and 35C.
Thanks for the response.

I can't compare to a Plazzo but we had a Thor Siesta prior to our purchase of our Excursion 35B this year. We had so many slide issues screw up our vacations with the Thor that it had to go. We took delivery of our excursion and with only a one night shakedown trip, left for New England from Florida. Our only real ongoing issue is some vibration. We had some little things like a couple shades that didn't go up or down right, a dash switch was bad, the Breaker on the oven/microwave needed replacing and that was about it. As for power, we had it in some hills in Vermont but I was only pulling 2500 lb trailer so I can't say how it would do with 10,000 back there. I can say I didn't feel overpowered but it handled most hills by only dropping down one gear to 5th. The engine brake did well on long 6-7% grades without touching the brakes.
Overall, we like our unit. I think I would say if this unit was destroyed today and we had to replace with a new one we would go the same way again.

We love our 2015 33D. Two months in the Rockies and the 300 hp was more than adequate . 10,000 hitch is a misnomer.
Were told by dealer and Fleetwood rep we should not tow over 5000lbs. Floor plan is perfect for us.
We chose the 33D because it was the shortest DP we could find( we downsized ). The ride is very good.
We probably would not buy another. Absolutely hate the frameless windows and vacu flush toilet. Hate, hate, hate them!!
Subtract those two items and it is a real nice entry level DP.

I spent some time at a dealership today, looking at a few used DP's

They had a '13 35B that I wanted to look at. It did seem more entry level vs some of the other DP's i walked through however it was still very nice. They were asking $149k which was the same price as a 2009 tiffin 40 ft coach which I can't recall the exact model. Sales person suggested going with the older coach vs the newer excursion for the same money.

Most state they get over 10mpg in the excursion and I expect the normal 8 mpg area for the 40ft tiffin?

Vacu fush my bounder has it.... Except for the noise at times its never bothered me.

I wonder if the FW rep stated 5k lbs towing due to the trans on the 33D which if I recall is a Allison 2100 vs the 35ft excursions getting the 2500 Allison. I wonder if the issue is the trans or chassis in regards to towing thus possibly the 35ft versions can tow more?
