on occasion my 6 spd transmission warning lights and buzzer would come on. When this would happen it would disable my transmission, causing it to down shift into a lower gear and then not shift up also the speedometer would go to zero. Needless to say I was in a bad spot with a large rig that was broke. This happened to us several times and we spent lots of time on the side of the road. After calling everybody from Allison to Foretravel, good intentions but no help. I checked fuses, wiring and reviewed manuals. Then I found it. Remember the speedometer had also shut down. I crawled under the coach unplugged the speedometer sensor connector closest to the drive shaft on the tail section of the transmission,unplugged it, cleaned and reinstalled it. This seemed to fix the problem no more problems knock on wood. I'm sure it had never been checked before and must have had corroded a little.
Hopes this little info helps if you find yourself in this terrible situation. Beats the heck out of being towed and spending several days at Allison watching your wallet getting thinner by the hour !!
