I am in the process of selling our Damon and looking for a BT Cruiser. Can anyone tell me where I might find a link to an original brochure for the 5230 model. I have something like that in mind. Thanks...
It is a 2007...

I found a 2006 BT Cruiser, and just bought it, so I guess I'll see the brochure now. Will get delivery on the 8th of March.

I own a 2004 BTCruiser model 5230 (24'). I've found info by using Google. I've read specs on BTCruisers for sale. The manual from GS is almost useless.

BT, Thanks. I did google it and saw different specs while I was looking for one. I did just buy one and get it on the 8th. A 2006 5231B. How do you like yours? Did you buy it new? Any problems?

John, I bought mine used last July with 9000 miles on it. It was well maintained by the older couple who owned it. They did not drive it as much as they wanted to because health issues arose. My RV experience is as follows: I have driven cross-country in a regular van, owned a pop-up,and a TT and rented a class A MH for a 7000 mile trip before I bought this BT Cruiser. I wanted a MH that was easy to drive with no towing. My last experience with a 35' MH was not very relaxing because of the size. I found it difficult to get gas, park in many parking lots and to travel places where I was unfamiliar with the route. My wife and I enjoy road trips and the BT is easy to drive and park. We took it to Nova Scotia on our first trip (about 2300 miles). The only downside so far is the comfort of the double bed sized couch. I bought an air mattress with a built in pump (120v) that we plan to test out as soon as our next camping trip, hopefully early April. It will be a two or three night trip.
I owned a Ford window van for 12 years and driving the BT feels similar to me. Of course the MH is taller, wider and longer, but I feel very comfortable while driving. Gulfstream compares the Cruisers to driving a large SUV, which is a bit of a stretch, but compared to most Class C's I can see their point.
I will soon do a complete cleaning of the outside using instructions I have read in other threads. I plan on using Red Max Pro to protect the finish once I have throughly cleaned the fiberglas sides. The whole process is outlined in many places which you could Google.
I replaced the CRT TV with a LED HD model. Using the antenna as is I can receive many stations. I bought a TV mount from Radio Shack which I screwed into the top of the frame of the TV cabinet. I also replaced the VCR with a DVD player. I could have bought an LED TV with a built -in DVD, but I didn't think of it until I installed everything.
I replaced all the tires as they had dry rot. The original Micheline tires are excellent except I read they are somewhat prone to dry rot. I don't expect to wear out tires but instead replace them after 5 or 6 years as they develop cracks. So I bought the less expensive but still good Firestone truck tires.
If you have any good ideas or questions I will be checking this thread,
Good luck and enjoy the Cruiser!

BT, This sounds familiar. This was owned by an older couple and he died from cancer before they could use it much. The son is selling it for his Mom. It only has 3900 miles on it and looks really good. Taking all the precautions I possibly can buying something 3000 miles away, but was a pretty good deal, so didn't want to pass it up.
We had a Class C before we got the A and my wife drove it, but isn't comfortable with the A, so won't help drive it. That's the main reason for selling the A and getting the cruiser. We'll see how the couch bed works out, but I too had thought about an air matress.

John,
Most stores only stock queen or twin sized air mattresses. I was able to buy an Aerobed full sized air mattress on Target.com with free shipping. I have slept on this brand while visiting relatives and was comfortable. The pump also deflates it quickly so you can fold and store the mattress easily. We will use a mattress pad or foam pad if its needed.

Will the twin size fit the couch?

John,
The couch has three parts that make up the bed. I didn't realize that during our first trip. The third piece is where your heels touch when you are sitting on the couch. When all three pieces are used, the bed is full sized. You can use a twin mattress, but a full sized one gives you more room. My wife and I can fit on a full sized bed (it is cozy). The last time we could or would sleep on a twin was about 35 years ago.

OK Roy, Good to know. A full size will work out for us. Thanks...
