Is there a Gulf Stream group that provides instruction/training on coach operation, driving, set up, maintenance, etc.? I have heard of owner rallies where this is offered by factory reps. professionals and experienced RVers.
If not can someone point me to where I can go for this type of information and training.
I have a lot of miles behind the wheel of big trucks but that was a number of years ago and my better half has none. I am sure I/we will struggle with maneuvering, parking and setting up for awhile. Slow moving operation is of less concern to me though than understanding and reacting to situations when rolling down then road - My opinion is that you can never get enough training or info - 45K vehicle rolling down the road at 60 is drastically different than a Smart car. Equally of interest is knowing what normal maintenance should be.

Sorry for all the newbie questions.

Thanks in advance to all that respond.

These are the ones I know of. I'm sure others will come up with more.

Added benefit - some insurance companies will give you a discount for completing an approved course.

with your OTR driving experience, just remember that the same rule applies. Never expect any other driver to do what you expect them to do. Whatever is the most logical is the last thing to expect, and drive defensive and carefully. Sure it is bigger, but then, all the others are smaller. Big is better.

When we got out first class a (30') I was worried about driving it also. Our dealer gave us a very complete instruction tour of the rig, explaining everything in "if you do this, here is what it will cost you" terms. Then we went out for a driver training session. we did interstates, 2-lane roads, tight corners, narrow bumpy roads, and backing up. One thing that helped me was putting the rig in a parking slot (enpty parking lot) and trying tight turns to see the turning radius, and where the wheels, (AND SIDES) went during the turns. Just get familiar with the rig, and you will have no problems.
