Check the ground wire for the steps.
Mine quit and I tightened the ground wire where it attaches to the chassis frame. Started working.

With Kwikee steps there is one "Trick" that sometiems restoes function till you can get to it. here is the sequence

You will need..
1:a hammer, 12 oz should do it
2: a partner you trust

Procedure

Crawl under the rig, keep clear of the steps themslves if you get caught by them it's gonna hurt. Observe the step light (it's on the base plate of the unit above the steps themselves) and have partner open the door. does the light come on,, Good, have partner close the door

2: "Tunk" the motor a few times (NOT too hard, you don't want to break anything, but doo "Tunk" enough that it knows it has been Tunked.

3: have partner open door

If the steps do not work try again

If this happens 3x times.. Then seek professional assistance if they are retracted, if they are extended drop the linkage and bunjie them up till you can fix 'em

Before you get the hammer out go to your brake pedal and lift it up, if your step operates your brake switch may need adjustment or you need a zerk fitting greased. If you look at the picture you will see the master cylinder rod coming out and the linkage is not pushing brake pedal switch closed. The switch also has to be closed for Cruise Control and your booster pump to operate.

Lube the heck out of everything that moves on the step and shake it around. That motor is not all that strong and will stall if there is a bind. Actually it is designed to do that in case you are up against a curb or something.

Also remember that the Kwikee step motor series 32 is the same as a late 80 to early 90 ford right front window motor about $40 to 50 instead of $100+, you will have to remove the gear on the new motor and replace with old gear. Instructions on RV Net web site.

Mine stopped working on my Adventuer. All it took was WD-40 on all of the joints and working the steps back and forth about a dozen time with another coat in between They worked like new. That is the first thing that I would try if I were you. Who knows? It might just work.
