Hello,
My first post as new member here. My question today is if anyone knows the difference in a Gulfstream Friendship G7 versus G8. I recently looked at a 2006 G7 and tried to achive the specs on it and the only brochure that comes up is a G8. Per floorplan of G8 on pdf, it sure looks looks like a G7, but there is no mention of G7 on that site.

I know of Gulfstreams poor reputation in customer service and that they will soon discontinue making any couchs however my wife really likes this unit. I talked with owner who traded it in because in business use his five year depreciation conveniently allowed the purchase/trade. Unit was in excellent contition and was he and his wife's home 365 days a year (and she was quite the house keeper). He explained the many problems but also gave details of the fix (including water leak damage that was fixed at factory after filing suit) and hose sucking in dirt/trash into breather, not found by dealer & Freightliner until the whole in hose sucked water and KOed motor. $20K later a 400 Cummins is back to good use. As you can imagine conversation with previous owner placed much light on the G7 to knowing its use, maintenance, service, etc. I had my mind set on a Tiffin or Newmar but I have to admit the unit is tempting. Hopefully I am wrong about Gulfstream and a buy here will not led to regret. I have been with a HR 34rlt FW since 2004 and a HR 38 Endeaver before that (the 2002 Endeaver caused much grief and I took a loss on it going to the FW). Late wife liked FW, but things change, new wife thinks she would like motor home.

Anyway, if anyone knows difference in G8 over G7 please advise.

SECOND QUESTION.....Previous owner loved the Hydro Hot water system, any pros and cons from readers here?

Thanks for any info.

For anyone interested I found the answer, G8 was a venture into a 8 ft ceiling model over the traditional 7 ft of G7. Newmar also tried this but the cabinets were a little high for most women so idea eventually went away.
