Does anyone know if I have the ability to gravity fill the fresh water tank on my 2002 SunVoyager? The book mentions it, but is really vague, and we are going to be doing some dry camping over the new years weekend and will need to fill from an external water barrel without pressure.

Just curious, how high can you get the water barrel? The water take should be just under floor height and I suspect you could adapt a hose to feed the tank.
I would probably just figure a way to connect a hose to your electric pump and pump the water into your tank from the barrel or if you can use the barrel as your storage tank to pump from directly.
I have never tried pumping water from below the electric pump though. Not sure if it will keep it's prime.
Just a couple of suggestions! Good Luck.

Unless you can find a port that a hose would fit INTO you will not have gravity fill. As suggested you could use the onboard pump to pull the water from the barrell if you are close enough to it. Otherwise you will have to use an external pump to push teh water from the barrell INTO the fresh tank or waterline on the coach.

I would be surprised if he doesn't have a gravity fill. Every GS I have looked at has one.
With so many people dry camping, I am surprised that all motorhomes don't have a gravity fill.

Mine does not have a gravity fill, as my last 2 motorhomes had. That is one option I miss. I know 2 friends we camp with both have National RV's and they can use their existing onboard water pumps to fill from an external source, but I am not sure the Gulfstream can do that the way it is set up...guess I'll have to just give it a try one of these days when I have time....yeah right, have time....

Why not pick up a pump (homedepot or Ace)that attaches to your drill (chuck) and pump it into your water fill port

I eventually picked up a 12v water pump from harbor freight and it does the job nicely!
