My wife and I just purchased a 2006 Mako 30FBHS fifth wheel. Our 2 kids love the bunk room and we like having 2 bathrooms. We brought the camper home and did a trial campout in our driveway. Everything seemed to work great until we tried to close the living room slide.

When I tried to close the living room slide, it would only move 2-3 inches and then stop. I made sure the trailer was perfectly level and I opened it back and tried again several times with no luck. The final time I heard a pop. I thought that I sheared the shear pin, but the rear cog wheel shaft sheared instead.

I am having trouble locating a replacement cog wheel. My slider uses a square shaft with holes instead of teeth. Does anyone know who made the slides for this trailer. I have looked at Lippert and Power Gear and it looks like both of their systems use a gear and tooth system instead of the hole and pin.

Thanks for the help.

Well first..Welcome to the forum And sorry for your problem You don't say from whom you bought it...Private seller or dealer...Did the slide work when you picked the 5'er up. Did you purchase an extended warranty. I would call the manufacture and see if they can help get parts.
Best of luck...D

We bought it consignment from a dealer. There was never an extended warranty offered and we ran the slides in and out several times with no issues. I am really just curious who made that particular slide so I can get parts if I need to in the future.

The dealer has been great about fixing a lot of issues and he is working on getting a replacement part.
