I wasn't paying attention several months ago and now just wondering (nothing has happen) but just in-case. I rode the rig with the switch to the air-bag in lower position, there was wheel clearance. whats is the advantage of the lower and automated switch and how it works in those positions

The ride height will not be accomplished if the lever is left in the dump position. THis means that the coach is lower to the ground. If parking in a garage that you needed a couple of inches to get through the door, this could be a good thing. When you go to level the coach the jacks do not have as far to reach the ground giving you more adjustability before maxing out.
The bad part is that you could pinch the bags them selves by driving in this position. These bags are your suspension and you can bottom out much easier when they do not have sufficient pressure to hold the coach up. Just add this to your check list to move the switch position after starting the engine and before retracting the jacks and you should be good to go.

Gee, I thought I was the only one that ever forgot to move the lever from the "Dump" position when traveling.

I did it once when leaving Myrtle Beach and drove for about thirty miles before I realized it.

Like you nothing happened and it didn't damage the air suspension bags.

Now I always shift the lever right away after dumping the air and leveling with the jacks. That way it is ready when I fire it up to air up the bags. Haven't ever did it again, thank goodness, might not be as lucky the next time and pinch one of the air bags.

Your posts are interesting. The servive mgr. at our dealership told us to leave the air in the "automatic" position and don't move to manual. He said the air will drop on its own, which it does. Prior to his advice I, too, had forgotten to move it back. Charlie
