I went to NAPA today to see if they could supply a steel bearing of the proper size. The exact replacement sized bearing would cost $80 and I would need four to retrofit the slide. Question I have is they have a bearing that is only 1/8" smaller that would cost me $3. Does anyone know if the 1/8" would really make a difference?

do google search on the bearing napa wants to sell you ,i would bet there are a lot of hits that will give you what you need at a resonable price
2nd thought if you can spec it out and know some one with a lathe a block of the right material (delrin comes to mind) and in 10 minutes you got your part and 2 spares
good luck and happy rving
