Overheating problem

2008 Tour Master by Gulf Stream on a 2007 chassis with a Mercedes MBE926 engine.
The EGR cooler failed last year on our way to Florida and we had it replaced at a Freightliner dealer in Pennsylvania. They also changed the coolant and the oil with new filters.
I am having an overheating problem when going up an uphill grade.
I had it looked at in Florida and the mechanic found that the coolant is not flowing through the radiator the way is should and he showed me that the left side of the radiator and other areas are staying cold. He did this with a no contact temp sensor. I was told that the radiator got clogged when the EGR cooler failed as it dumped debris in the coolant. I was told that I need a new radiator or to have the existing radiator removed to have it cored, cleaned and rebuilt.
Should Freightliner have known about this problem and advised me that the system needed to cleaned

Any one have a similar problem.

Thank you in advance,

The failure of an EGR cooler can cause contamination of oil and coolant, which the FL service tried to repair with changing those fluids. You might try to scope the radiator tank to see what type of blockage you have. If the cooler was replaced under warranty, I'd think you'd have a good case they didn't go far enough. If you had to pay for the cooler, you might be on the hook for this repair also. If you have to pay, you might try radiator flush and cleaners before going to rebuild or replace radiator route.

The Freightliner dealer that replaced the EGR cooler changed the coolant and the oil.

The mechanic in Florida felt that the radiator was too blocked and told me that flushing the radiator with cleaners would be a waste of time and money.

Yes, you said they changed fluids. Was it a warranty fix? As I said, maybe they didn't go far enough. If it was covered, you have a case that the radiator was damaged by the EGR cooler failure. If not, I would try flushing the radiator in place myself, if not you are talking big money.

No it was not a warranty fix, it was out of pocket.

I am very disappointed in Freightliner people, they should have told me about this potential problem and given me the option to address this issue or leave it alone.
It should have been my decision. We had to take the base of the bed apart to gain access to the top of the engine to replace the EGR Cooler and it would have made it easier to work on the Radiator.
