I have the hydraulic system for slides. The pump is made by Dewald. The last few times we've used our class c the motor on the rear slide would keep running after releasing the switch. Usually you could bump the switch back out to stop it. Yesterday, when sliding in, the pump kept running. When I bumped it the unit moved out and then back in: THEN NOTHING!

Now, I have no movement on either the front or rear slide when I try the switches inside. As I tried to troubleshoot I hooked power to the pump and it begins running. I believe this is normal since it is the suggested action if you are stuck with a slide out.

Is there a breaker that tripped when the pump kept running? I replaced the relay that is located in the compartment with the pump but nothing changed. I looked through all my information and searched here but have not found anything. Please help as we need to leave Friday morning for a money trip!

Thanks for your help
Terry

Terry, there should be a circuit breaker for the slideout circuits. I am not sure where they are located on your coach but possibly under the sofa if not outside. It sounds like the points in the solenoid are starting to stick. Recommend you look at replacing it after you get the CB reset.

Thanks Mike. My electrician did find a fuse link that was blown so we'll be replacing that tomorrow. He jumped the solenoid and was able to make the slides move from outside. We know the motor is working fine, so it's back to tracing down other problems. He checked the switches inside and there is no power to either, even when he had the bad link jumped. Tomorrow he is removing the pump and motor to give him more access to the solenoids. Would you happen to know if there should be power at the inside switches?

Thanks again,
Terry

I am not sure if they are using a double pole double throw (DPDT) cross over switch or a controller. The first would have power on the two outside terminals and the motor connected to the center (common) terminals when the switch is activated. The controller could be such that the switch completes a ground and therefore you would not see 12+ at the switch. I think my Dewald system uses the DPDT switch and I think the fuse may be in the Batter Control Center.

Thanks for the help Mike. I'm back in business, to a degree. The power issue was a 50 amp breaker in the battery compartment. Had to short term replace with a 40, but should be good if I don't double down like last week. We were able to replace one of the relays. This unit actually has two 40 amp relays. The second is on order for replacement before next trip as well as the 50 amp breaker. Couldn't get to the solenoids yet. Will be checking them next week as well. We will only need one out and in for this trip so keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks again for your advice
Terry

Maybe you need to carry some peanuts to keep the squirrels under control.
