Roof Top AC unit

We have a 1994 Gulfstream Scenic Cruiser. The roof air unit was replaced about 2 years ago. Inside the coach there are 3 different locations to turn on the air conditioner. One by the entry steps, one in the bedroom and one on the dash. Sometimes I can push the button by the entry and the AC comes right on. Other time I have to sit and work with it a dozen times before anything will happen. Same for the bedroom and the dash. After it starts it is all controlled by the thermostat on the wall and works great from then on. I would love to replace this controller with a switch but might be messing something else up. The worry is that we may get somewhere and I can never get it to come on. Any ideas on hoe to remedy this problem. I has to be a relay somewhere.

Imho; would try at each location to make sure the connections are good and tight first because it still works rite?

There are times when the unit may have a delay to start for about 3 minutes. Can you post a photo of the controls you are referring to?

This is what the switch look like. I only have one A/C unit and sometimes the rear light comes on for no reason. My trouble is with the front air. I have three of these switches..One in the entry, bedroom and dash

Intellitec makes controllers of all sorts, for water pumps, battery disconnects, slide controllers, even sofas. Somewhere in your RV should be a black box that has a control board that takes the input from the 3 switch stations and triggers a solenoid to turn on the A/C. Sounds like either one of the switches is bad or some other issues with the control circuit. I've never seen a controller of that type.

In a 30 amp RV with 2 A/C units, I'd guess that controller might turn on the generator to run the second A/C, but you say you don't have a second A/C. Does the generator switch start and stop the generator? Is it the only controller for the generator?

If you find the Intellitec black box that the switches send signals to, you will probably find a part number. You could then contact the Tech support folks at Intellitec and see if they can help you.

If you haven't located the control box, you might find it with your ears by triggering the switch and listening for the solenoid click, if it's a mechanical solenoid and not all electronic.
