Hello everyone I am new to the forum and RVing in general. We've had a 48' Great Dane that we've converted for about 5 yrs,we also have a '79 Kenworth W900 to pull it.We recently bought a '92 Gulf Stream Conquest 29' on an E350 chassis w/460 powerplant.I looked it over fairly well before we bought it,in better than average shape IMO,needs a few things mechanically which is something I can do all of myself.I noticed a little damage to the roof after a little closer inspection I've come to the conclusion that I'd be time/$$$ ahead to replace it all.I plan on replacing the vents and shower skylight also.I was wondering what would be wrong with topping over the existing wood with 1/8-1/4" plywood before replacing the rubber?I also read on another forum before I found this one about a guy who used roll-on rubber bed liner for trucks and he was really pleased with the results.I wondered about doing that over the new wood and am not sure how well it would work.I also found a kit with everything needed to replace the existing roof for around $800.Anyone have any good ideas/advice on the best way to go about this???
Thanks,
brokeokie
