I was traveling today on I 40 in Oklahoma and started hearing a banging noise on the RV. It seams a large rubber gasket that goes between the roof and the awning mount was loose and flopping about, I pulled over and go on top and was able to remove it with no damage, thank goodnes. Now the question is: Do I need to glue or seal or connect someway that rubber piece to the roof? I see it has a groove for the awning mount.

It sounds like you have a series 9000 with a metal weather guard. It has a strip of rubber that may be torn. If so this gasket is a means to seal the rain from coming in between the roof and awning.

I hope you saw my earlier message but just in case I was wondering if I can put that gasket on the roof with double sided tape or if I need to use some sort of sealant.
Also how did you get the picture on the page? I would like to add my picture to the my page but I do not see that option in the personal zone.

Well I guess no one has an opinion on this so I will use the 2 sided tape.

Mr. Proto, sorry I missed you previous post about using double side tape to secure the gasket. As long as the surface is cleaned well it should hold up fairly well. I would recommend a good brand like 3M and make sure it is fo outside use like auto body molding grade.
The small photo under my user name is called an Avatar. It is in your profile area. You will first need to upload a thumbnail size photo into an online gallery and transfer it into this area through your personal zone, ie edit profile. IF you have any problem you can always private message me, or any opted in, by clicking on my user name and send me a message. Good luck and keep us posted.
