Searching for the OBD port on a 1997 Gulfstream Sun Voyager

Hoping someone here can help; I wanted to install a ScanGauge SGDFFP in my brand new-to-me 1997 Gulfstream Sun Voyager diesel pusher with Cat 3126 engine.

However, the only thing I'm seeing under the dash that looks like an diagnostic/OBD port is this:

Its just hanging loose. Is this a J1939 Diagnostic Plug? Is that a cover I'm seeing?

Your photo doesn't display. I think a '97 would be an OBD round port with 9 pins.

Still no photo, I even tried pasting the address into a blank page and it said "404 Not found"

This is a J1039 9 pin plug, a CAN Controller Area Networks multiplex serial connector used in diesel and autos before the OBD II became an industry standard.

My 99 Freightliner chassis the diagnostic port was tucked into the main harness and has a screw on cap.

I don't know what's going on with my images; I saw the image when I posted it

Well, not sure if this will apply, but I wasn't able to find my OBD port on my 1997 RexAir...turns out the Ford chassis is actually a 1996....so no OBD available.

Wish I had figured that out before I bought my OBD diag tool. Oh well, another lesson learned.

Good luck.
