Often the tank additive included with the rig is not something you want to use. IN fact. if I recall correctly (BIG IF THERE) the blue stuff often contains a chemical that will get you banned in many parks.. I could check, I think I still have mine, Still sealed.
I really do not recommend any chemicals,, but if you must, you must
There are two ways to clean the sensors that seem to work..
I made my own tank flusher.. Now, as it turns out, years later, I found that there is a company (Valterra) which makes one that is almost identical to mine (It is called the Master Blaster) Look it up.. Here is my design
1/2 inch PVC, cap one end, hose fitting on the other
Drill a hole (mine is 7/32", but "About 1/4" is the proper size, that was the first "Quarter inch" bit I grabbed" in the side of the cap,
Or, put on an elbow, short nipple, cap and drill the center (how I actually did it, but if I do it again I'll use the side drill)
That is it.. The pipe is long enough to reach the bottom of the tank without my bending over.
I feed it via a 3-part feeder.. (I'm kind of security .. Well, paranoid) Thefirst item is a ball valve (Quarter turn valve) I had lying about, this is a garden hose "in-line" valve, Then comes a Spring Check Valve, then a standard vacuum breaker.. Then the adapter to match the male fitting on the end of the pipe (I re-used a pipe that had that fitting already on it)
Result: IT blasts the wall clean (you aim the jet toward the sensors)
The other method, which requires a pair of dump sites one at each end of a trip, is the GEO method
Dump tank
Add 1/2 cup Calgon Water Softener, 1/2 cup DAWN regular dishwashing liquid (NOT anti-bacterial) five to 10 gallons of water (I used six)
Drive, 50miles or so
Dump
Sensors WILL show full (And if you look you will see why,, Soap bubbles) but after a day or two when the bubbles pop, they will show EMPTY.
