I am looking at a model 8379 on a W-22 chassis. Do any of you pull a 4,200 lb vehicle or trailer with this coach?

I am just wondering how it will handle this type of load.

We have a Sun Voyager 8378 and pull a 2002 Kia Sportage. It has a 4400 Gross weight rating. So not really sure what the empty weight is. But our Sun Voyager pulls it OK. Don't even know it's back there.
According to GulfStreams brochure all specs are identical between the 8378 and the 8379.

rfanti, if you do not get a response from darby in a few days, he may not be revisiting this thread, since his post was in January . You could click on his user name and send him a private message asking him your question. Good luck and enjoy the website.

Sorry for the late reply. My Gulfstream is a 2004, W22, it is the triple slide with the sunroom. We bought it when it was a year old and had 2000 miles on it in 2005. The first problems I had was a leak in the bedroom slide out and it must have been leaking since new because it had damaged the floor in the bedroom. I took it back to LaMesa where I bought it and they replaced the floor in the bedroom and also replaced the slide out seals. After picking it up we went camping and the first time out it rained and it was fine but then a few times after I noticed at the back corner of the bedroom slide it was leaking again. After about a year of numerous trys I decided to try and do something myself and I found water coming in under a medal corner trim on the slideout. I also have noticed that it needs to be level to not leak, I use the bathroom door to check the level, if it swings it is out of level. I also lost the AC compressor the first year I had it, it was replaced under warrenty. The biggest problem has been the brakes, they have failed three times and Workhorse has replaced all the calipers but at times the brakes still overheat, only after I have had to stop several times in a row. I will be glad when they finally do the recall and replace the calipers with the improved one. One other proble I have is electrolis on one slide out end and it is on the kitchen slideout. I will have to repair that in the future.
We love the layout of the MH, the large living area really is nice when camping for an extended time. Like the large refrigerator. For winter camping it is not too good, hard to keep warm unless you run a couple of electric heaters. They just don't have enough outlets for the furnace. Also when it is very hot you need to run both AC and even then sometimes it will not be that cool. I always in the Summer here in Fl try to pick the shady spots.
The 8.1 handles the motor home well and I pull a 2004 Saturn Vue. I like the allison transmission.
Mileage is about 7.5 MPG pulling the toad.
It does not have double pane glass in the windows and the side windows make noise when it is windy.
I have had to replace the windsheld on both sides , they broke from the frame twisting.
It handles very well and I don't ge blown around when traveling by the large trucks or the wind.
I hope this helps and once again sorry for the late reply
