Video selector, and tv conversion ?'s on 2000 Sun Voyager m-8354...
Searched for this till my eyes bled, please help!
Just bought our first MH, the above model, and for the life of me I cannot find where any"video selector" would be. It has a DVD in the above driver cabinet, with RCA outs going behind tv to right over passenger cabinet, then they circle back and disappear into the abyss (above I guess). I'm assuming these go to a rf modulator, then to a video selector, but I cannot find either. I have removed tv, and traced the wires as best I can, nothing.
Does anybody know what kind and where located of a video selector is on this model?
Also, replacing the 19" crt's with some kind of flat panel, larger, and hd capable. Is there a ready fit conversion kit, or am I forced to try to be creative (not my strong point)? For those of you that went the swivel arm mount option (seems to make most sense, access to wires, storage (DVD, etc.) behind, do you have any bouncing around, safety, noise, swivel arm moving issues while driving? Any tips on the easiest method of converting to flat panel with as little fabricating (if any?) and an acceptable look after?
Thanks in advance for your time and information, any and all help is GREATLYAPPRECIATED!

Is there a cabinet with any other wires coming into it? The cabinet where mine is has glass inlayed doors so u can use the remote to operate the VCR and satellite. The previous owners may have removed it for some odd reason.

I have seen detailed pics of a flat screen retro fit in the gulf stream thread some where. When I see it again I'll let you know where to find them.

Originally, your coach probably had a multi-zone audio/video selector box that would integrate input signals and allow you to channel those down the 75 ohm coaxial cable to rear and outside TV.

If the video selector is gone, that might be good. It was most likely not HD so useless if you want to go HD.
The best way to go is HDMI (single cable with HD video and 5.1 sound).
I have 4 TV's in my unit so here is what I did:
1-Converted the two old CRT types (non-HD) to flat panels (picked Sony LED/120Hz). Now all my tv's have a HDMI input.
2-Find the coax cable that feeds the TV cable signal from the park, you need to upconvert this signal to HDMI so use a converter or I used a DVD player that does the upconvert (same price(around $150)).
Toshiba DR7 DVD Recorder with 1080p Upconversion | DVD Recorders | Clearance Outlet | Ratings & Reviews | TheSource.ca
3- The signal from the Sat receiver is already HDMI
4- The signal from my laptop is DVI which easily converts to HDMI with an adapter. You can connect an XBOX or anything else HDMI in the Laptop source...
5- My 4th source is a Blu-Ray player which is HDMI also.
6- Now I have 4 HDMI tv's and 4 HDMI sources so I used a 4X4 HDMI matrix switch (any source(s) to any TV(s)) (around $160) Get your HDMI cables at Monoprice too, cheap cheap...
For only $145.80 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 4X4 True Matrix HDMI® Powered Switch w/ Remote (Rev. 3.0) | Auto & Powered HDMI Switches
7- The biggest challenge was running HDMI cables to each TV... HDMI in 25 ft or more is very thick. So I ran computer cables (Cat6 shielded). You need to run a pair to each TV. I used HDMI baluns from Belkin (one at each end) to convert the HDMI signal to Cat5 and back to HDMI at the TV. (around $150 per set. You can use baluns that will convert RG6 to HDMI ant then you don't have to run new cables but those are very pricy ($350/per set)
Now I must say everything works pretty well if I set everything to 720P. I fou mix 720P and 1080p then the switch does not work so well. If all your TV's are 1080p then you can use 1080p...
Note that I only have one Sat receiver so everyone watches the same chanel (which is ok for us) but if you want you can easily plug in an adtl receiver into the laptop input.

Thank you all for the information, that's why I picked this forum to join, everyone seems so inforative and willing to help! I hope to be helping others as well, but now don't have much to offer.
@ Rv wizard -thanks, thats the item i'm trying to locate!
@DB - Thank you, great info. not sure if I'm ready to take on the wiring yet, as we are leaving on a trip in a week, and i need to get the tv's mounted, new tires, serviced, new head unit, de-winterized, cleaned and loaded... so was hoping to use just standard cable in campgrounds, possibly roof ant., and dvd player for now. Def. will do a wire upgrade as u describe after trip, with more time and patience.
@Graygulf - Thanks, if u see the link, that'd be nice to see. To answer ur other ?, yes there was a dvd player above the driver seat in a cabinet, and a VHS (lol) above the passanger seat. both plugged in and running (seemingly). I could get a snowy picture from vhs front and back tv after repairing a bad cable end, but no dvd. Seems dvd was connected via RCA type that went behind tv, into the VHS cabinet, but disappeared into roof/front insulation, and I can't find where connected.
I figure SOMETHING has to switch between the 4 sources they had connected (roof ant., VHS, DVD, cable,) right? I just cannot find it anywhere, and rest of cabinets/likely hiding places seem no luck?
anybody????

If the box is missing, I would start over and upgrade the complete audio and video entertainment system. Sit down and plan out what you want to do where and then wire accordingly with cat 6 and RG 6 for the sat sys.

First time posting here.
I have the same problem, video selector box is gone.
As much as I'd like to run CAT6 or HDMI cables, how on earth is this done? I suspect trying to run cables from the front to the back is difficult. How would one start to go about this?

I just finished rewiring the coach for HD Sat. TV. I installed a outside jack just below the drivers side in the front of the RV. Then ran the wire through the firewall to the inside and up the side, needed to remove the trim between the window and side of the RV. I used the first hatch to house the Sat. reciever, then into the space where the old tube TV was located.
I have Directv so its only one RG6 cable. From the Sat receiver I ran HDMI to the TV.
In the engine compartment I installed a 8 was splitter and ran a RG6 along the frame to the very last compartment. Drilled a hole and pulled 50' of cable from back to front. In the bedroom I removed the drawers and drilled down into the last compartment and fished the cable up the side and into the TV hatch in the bedroom. I used the existing over air wiring for over air and cable, however, I can use the new cable for Campground cable also.
With the HD DVR and Sat dish Diane can record her TV shows and watch when she feels like it. Was about a three day project.
